Atlantic Grey Seal Pup, Cwmtydu

It's that time of year again. The days are getting shorter and colder but the seals are pupping again. We had heard that there was a pup at Cwmtydu and so there was. We drove down and walked to the cove where we could see the pup. I carefully and slowly approached the cove being sure to keep a good distance from the pup so as not to disturb it at all. I spent two hours there all told and the little feller spent the whole time dozing in the sunshine. This meant good light on him and a nicely shaded rocky background. He moved very little but I got a few reasonable photos (see Wildlife/Hunters). I kept a good watch for the mother too because if she wanted to return that was my cue to get out of their way. Left once the sun had put the pup in shadow. Returned to the coastal path and found Sarah lying in the warm sunlight with a cool can of Pepsi Max to share - just what was needed.
